Demographic changes in the context of the demographic transition theory, have raised many issues about the demographic situation in Iran. This paper studies the views and attitudes of women born before and after the Islamic revolution with regard to reproductive behavior. Using survey and cluster sampling, a sample of 300 married women aged 15-50 years in the city of Ahar was selected. For the analysis of fertility differences between the two generations, the method used to compare the mean and coefficient of correlation and analysis of multiple classes. Results show significant differences in demographic characteristics between the two generations. According to the results of the multiple classification analysis, education, family relations, age at marriage and jobs had an accelerating effect and income had a reducing effect. Convergence in fertility among women of different social and demographic characteristics heralds the approach of the views and ideas of different generations in fertility. Changes in the family, loss of relationships, and changes the marriage style can reinforce the convergence.
