Abstract
Obesity is a global phenomenon which has spread all over the developed and developing countries. It affects both genders and all age groups. It has some economic and social consequences but mainly affects people's health. That is why in this cross-sectional study, we chose 632 over 15-year-old citizens of Tabriz through a multi-stage cluster sampling method. Results show that there is a significant correlation between age, gender, income, education variables, and body mass. The final point is that since obesity and being slim are both risky factors for the body, improving nutrition along with developing an exercise culture in order to achieve the final goal, being healthy, can be one of the influential factors in achieving a normal body mass.
