While the scientific studies of population played an effective role in formulation of national and international policies, the question raises that what has been the impact of the international political changes and development programs on the scientific identity of demography? This article attempts to discuss, with a wholistic approach, the impact of the global social, economic and political changes on the wisdom of demography. After an overview of the history of the development of population sciences in the last few centuries, an attempt is made to elaborate on the consequences of recent development programs and international political events, such as world wars, diffusion of communism, cold war and social movements supporting women's rights and birth control on shaping the population issues and studies. This article, also, emphasizes on the necessity of attention to the impact of general atmosphere and international political events on the orientation, interpretation and application of demographic studies and research and the importance of demographers commitment to maintain the scientific spirit and principles of their field of study. <span class="button-container">  </span> در نیم قرن اخیر،یافته‌های مطالعات جمعیتی به‌طور فزاینده‌ای مورد استفادهء برنامه‌ریزان و سیاست‌گذاران بوده است.درحالی‌که دانش جمعیت‌شناسی نقش تأثیرگذاری در فرمول‌بندی‌ و هدایت سیاست‌های ملی و بین المللی ایفا نموده است،این سؤال پیش می‌آید که تحولات‌ کلان سیاسی و تلاش‌های توسعه در سطح بین الملل چه تأثیری برهویت تخصصی دانش‌ جمعیت‌شناسی نهاده است؟این مقاله با بینشی کل‌نگر،تأثیر تغییر شرایط اقتصادی،اجتماعی‌ و سیاسی درجهان برمیراث فکری و پژوهشی دانش جمعیت‌شناسی را مورد بحث قرار می‌دهد.پس از اشاره‌ای گذرا به ریشه‌های شکل‌گیری دانش جمعیت‌شناسی در چند قرن‌ اخیر،پیامد تحولات سیاسی قرن بیستم و رویدادهای مهمی نظیر جنگ‌های جهانی،گسترش‌ کمونیسم،جنگ سرد و جنبش‌های اجتماعی مدافع حقوق زنان و کنترل جمعیت،بر جهگیری مباحث جمعیتی مورد بررسی قرار می‌گیرد.این مقاله برلزوم توجه جدی‌تر جمعیت‌شناسان به تأثیر محیط و رویدادهای سیاسی بین المللی برجهت‌گیری،تفسیر و استفاده از نتایج تحقیقات‌شان و حفظ روح علمی و بنیان‌های دانش جمعیت‌شناسی تأکید دارد. https://www.jpaiassoc.ir/article_722698_182245a2bba3bc9a88868e209e14e685.pdf
