Although the history of Afghan migration dates back to 19 century, the first main flow of migration took place after Soviet invasion. Given a relatively long history of Afghans in Iran, studying the impact of migration on their lives is of importance. Using spatial planning (Amayesh) data in 2005 and the data of a sample survey on Afghans in Iran during 2004-2005, this paper aims to examine the changes in social, economic and demographic characteristics of Afghans in Iran. The explanation will be mainly based on adaptation hypothesis. Findings show major improvements for Afghans in Iran in terms of education and health. Differences across generation and duration of residence show more advantages for those with longer duration and second-generation Afghans. In terms of occupation, however, the adaptation was not remarkable. This unbalanced integration can be to high extent attributed to the characteristics of migrants, and migration policy of the host society towards them. The different consequences of such adaptation and integration would have policy implications. ایران یکی از مهم ترین کشورهای پذیرای مهاجران و پناهندگان افغانی است. با توجه به سابقه ی طولانی مهاجرت افغان ها به ایران و تعداد قابل توجه آن ها، بررسی تغییر در وضعیت افغان ها در ایران از اهمیت خاصی برخوردار است. این مقاله بر آن است تا با استفاده از داده های دو طرح آمایش و بررسی نمونه ای سال 1384، وضعیت اقتصادی، اجتماعی و جمعیتی مهاجران افغانی را با توجه به مهاجرت آن ها به ایران بررسی کند. در این بررسی از فرضیه ها و نظریات مختلفی استفاده شده که مهم ترین آن ها فرضیه ی انطباق است. بر اساس این فرضیه هرچه مهاجران ارتباط بیش تری با جامعه ی مقصد داشته باشند، وضعیت آن ها به جامعه ی مقصد شبیه تر خواهد بود. یافته ها بهبود وضعیت مهاجران، به ویژه در زمینه های آموزش، مهارت و بهداشت را منعکس می کنند. تفاوت نسلی قابل توجهی (وضعیت بهتر نسل دوم)، در این بهره مندی وجود دارد. در مقابل، انطباق مهاجران با جامعه ی مقصد در بعضی جنبه ها نظیر اشتغال، ضعیف بوده است. این وضعیت به ناهماهنگی همانندی با جامعه ی مقصد منجر شده است. ویژگی های مهاجران، تجربه ی زندگی در ایران و نگرش جامعه ی مقصد، می توانند تبیین گر این وضعیت باشند. با توجه به تبعات متفاوت این وضعیت برای مهاجران و جوامع مبدا و مقصد، تدوین راهکارهای سیاستی مناسب ضروری است. https://www.jpaiassoc.ir/article_722620_86cfe0e8722357276064e1a6feed52f5.pdf
