These characteristics consist of the age-sex composition, economic status, employment status and job specifications, education, marital status, size of the migrants' households.<br />This article tries to study the causes of two types of migrations, from rural-to-urban and urban-to-rural areas, and to compare the results. To this end, a twenty-percent sample of the 2006 national census is used. Statistical tests and the related analysis are carried out on 167000 migrants. Statistical results are tested with bivariate tests (including chi-square, Cramer's V and Phi tests) and multivariate tests (including binary Logistic regression). Findings show that among the causes of the migrations, there is a significant difference in the age-sex composition from rural-to-urban and urban-to-rural migrations. This result is consistent with the findings of other studies. The results of this study can be used for socio-economic planning and demographic policymaking. مهاجرت از مناطق کمتر برخوردار به مناطق برخوردار داخل کشور در اغلب موارد مشکلاتی در پی دارد که شناخت علل این مهاجرت‌ها و ترکیب سنی– جنسی، وضعیت اقتصادی، وضعیت اشتغال، نوع شغل، وضعیت تحصیلات، وضعیت زناشویی و بعد خانوار مهاجران برای سیاستگذاران جمعیتی و اقتصادی از اهمیت بسزایی برخورداراست. این مطالعه می کوشد با استفاده از  داده‌های 20% نمونه‌گیری سرشماری‌1385 ضمن بررسی علل این مهاجرت‌ها، ویژگی‌های مهاجرین بین‌شهرستانی روستا-شهر و شهر-روستا را مورد مطالعه تطبیقی قرار دهد. آزمون ها و تحلیل نهایی بر روی 167‌هزار مهاجر انجام گرفته است. نتایج حاصله با آزمونهای دو متغیره (مجذور‌کا، وی‌کرامرز و فی) و چندمتغیره (رگرسیون لوجستیک‌ دو‌وجهی) بررسی شده‌اند. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد در ترکیب سنی – جنسی، علل مهاجرت و ویژگیهای جمعیتی- اقتصادی یاد شده، تفاوت معنی‌داری بین مهاجران بین‌شهرستانی روستا- شهر و شهر- روستا وجود دارد. این تفاوت‌ها با یافته‌های برخی از محققان مطابقت دارد. نتایج بدست آمده می‌تواند در برنامه‌ریزی و سیاست‌گذاری‌های جمعیتی و اقتصادی– اجتماعی مورد استفاده قرار گیرد. https://www.jpaiassoc.ir/article_722544_17f04d2b5e761a7e053a409961dce99b.pdf
