So, the role of age groups and the main causes of death in provincial differences in life expectancy at birth in 2016 have been investigated in Iran. Life expectancy at birth was calculated using the National Organization for Civil Registration data. In addition, data on the causes of death by age and sex have been obtained from the registration system of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. After correcting the death data, the role of age groups and causes of death in the provincial differences in life expectancy were calculated using the Arriaga decomposition method. The results suggested that Sistan and Baluchestan province has the lowest and Isfahan and Alborz provinces have the highest life expectancy at birth in Iran, which shows a difference of about 8 years in life expectancy. Furthermore, almost all ages positively affected the life expectancy of provinces with higher life expectancy than the national level. Cardiovascular diseases and unintentional accidents were the most important causes of the difference in life expectancy in the provinces of Iran. Based on the findings, it seems that the differences in life expectancy at the provincial level are due to inequality in development. هدف این مطالعه شناخت ظرفیت‌های موجود در بهبود امید زندگی در بدو تولد است. در همین راستا، نقش گروه‌های سنی و علل اصلی مرگ در تفاوت‌های امید زندگی دربدو تولد در سطح استان‌های کشور در سال 1395 مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. برای محاسبه شاخص امید زندگی دربدو تولد از داده‌های سازمان ثبت احوال کشور استفاده شده است. همچنین اطلاعات علل مرگ بر حسب سن و جنس از سامانه ثبتی وزارت بهداشت، درمان و آموزش پزشکی اخذ شده است. پس از تصحیح کم‌ثبتی داده‌های مرگ، نقش گروه‌های سنی و علل مرگ در تفاوت‌های استانی امید زندگی با کاربرد روش تجزیه آریاگا محاسبه شد. یافته‌ها نشان داد که استان سیستان و بلوچستان پایین‌ترین و استان‌های اصفهان و البرز بالاترین امید زندگی دربدو تولد در کشور را دارند که تفاوت حدود 8 سال در امید زندگی را نشان می‌دهد. همچنین تقریبا همه سنین نقش مثبت در فزونی امید زندگی استان‌های با امید زندگی بالاتر از سطح کشور داشتند. بیماری‌های قلبی و عروقی و حوادث غیرعمدی مهم‌ترین علل تفاوت امید زندگی در سطح استان‌های کشور بودند. براساس یافته‌ها، به‌نظر می‌رسد تفاوت‌های موجود در طول عمر در سطح استان‌های کشور ناشی از نابرابری در توسعه است. https://www.jpaiassoc.ir/article_250843_10cc746a75d03be4abb3465d52d4a514.pdf
